Brandon's Personal Bio

Just as every Redwood starts as a single seed, just as every house starts with a single plank, just as every blizzard starts with a single snowflake, I, Brandon Lee Redlinger, too had his beginnings of health and nutrition where every child begins - as a child. Growing up in Colorado Springs, Colorado, I loved sizzling savory burger from McDonald’s, a sugary and sweet Twinkie treat, a tall glass of sparkling Mountain Dew. I didn’t think twice about what I put into my mouth, just as long as it was quick, delicious, and filling. I was young and extremely active, so I stayed skinny and “Healthy.”

However, this diet did not work for me forever. As a freshman in high school, I began to get migraines that kept me out of school and away from the things that I loved. After nearly one year of seeing the family doctor and filling prescriptions at the pharmacy, one teacher was becoming more concerned about my missing valuable information learned in school, crucial ice time during hockey practice, and quality sleep for everyday functioning and happiness. He told me that his son suffered from migraines and suggested that I look at my diet.

This was something that I did not even know could correlate with my migraines, but nonetheless, it tickled my curiosity, and I embraced the idea with arms open and a mind reeling. Soon, morning after morning, as I pulled aside the sheets of my bed to let the light in, so too did I begin to pull aside the blanket of mystery causing the aches. The aches slowly dissipated to let health and well-being in.

Not only did I lose the migraines, other consequences struck with cleaning up my diet -:high energy, better sleep, and an overall increase in well-being. I recognized this and, being the overachiever and perfectionist that I am, not only ran with this, but sprinted off to new horizons in my life. I fully immersed and dedicated myself to learning and practicing this new way of living - enjoying a clean diet while leaving processed foods and sugary snacks on the shelves and greasy burgers at the fast food chains.

One day during my sophomore year in college, I did something highly uncharacteristic of me. Something that would change my life’s path forever… I skipped class. But I skipped it to attend a talk on “High Energy Health through Real Simple Nutrition” given by Seth Braun, an international holistic health coach, life coach, and bestselling author. Seth would become my greatest teacher and mentor. I worked under Seth for two years learning holistic health, naturopathic practices, and self-improvement tools. I also worked arduously under Charley Cropley, one of today’s leading teachers in naturopathy and self-healing.

From the days of McD’s burgers and fries, to the days of extreme near supplementarianism, to a simple diet of ripe fruits and veggies, clean animal protein, and wholesome whole grains, with the occasional indulgence of dark chocolate, I am highly dedicated to living a life of high energy, optimal health, and eminent happiness though nutrition, exercise, and a healthy mind.

I have a BA in Communication from the University of Colorado with a minor in Technology, Arts, and Media.  I am also a Certified Health Coach from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in Manhattan, NY, and a Certified Personal Trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine.  With a natural curiosity and constant look-out to learn something new, I am always reading a health or business book, and I will continue to expand my knowledge, as this is only the beginning!
